Space Expo is the visitor centre of ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. At Space Expo you will learn more about the wonderous world of space and space travel. From designing and building space missions on earth to launching them into space. Touch a real meteorite, launch a hydrogen rocket and take a look inside André Kuipers' original Sojoez-capsule. Throughout the years, the museum's collection has been expanded with beautiful showpieces. There is also a lot of attention for the history of space travel and you can walk through a model of the International Space Station (ISS). Space Expo is a fun and educational trip for the whole family!

Please note: During the Space Week, Space Expo will be (partially) closed on some days due to private events. Check the closing days below:

About us

NL Space Campus is the gateway to the Dutch Space Cluster and, together with this strong cluster, an important European Space Hub. We connect the curious. Both online and offline, we are here to find and share new and better ways to go from knowledge to the application of knowledge. The physical campus is located in Noordwijk, home to ESA’s technical heart, the European Space Research and Technology Center (ESTEC), the Galileo Reference Centre (GRC), SBIC Noordwijk hosting the ESA BIC programme and Space Expo. The European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk is ESA's largest test centre. An impressive R&D centre with 2700 high tech professionals, 100 PHD’s and 100 young graduates. ESA has sites in several European countries and its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world. ESTEC is the technical heart- the incubator of the European space effort- where most ESA projects are born and guided through the various phases of development. This is the place where all Europe's space missions are born.

Leiden European City of Science 2022 is a 365-day science festival packed with activities, lectures, workshops, excursions, exhibitions, and events, for anyone with a curious mind. Every two years, EuroScience in Strasbourg awards the title of European City of Science to a new European city. The title is awarded as part of Europe's largest biennial multidisciplinary science conference: the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF).
